Birmingham Freedom Fest

The year 1963 was a defining moment for the city of Birmingham. Activists in Birmingham launched Project C, one of the most influential campaigns of the Civil Rights Movement. Better known as the Birmingham Campaign, it would be the beginning of a series of sit-ins, marches, and boycotts that would end a centuries-long struggle for FREEDOM. In the spirit of Project C, FREEDOM FEST is an empowerment and music festival celebrating Birmingham’s movements, unique culture, connection to community, and access to content that motivates and inspires. Guest musical performers have included Rapsody, Musiq Soulchild, Big Krit, Jidenna, Pastor Mike Jr. Ruben Studdard, Midnight Star Band, DeQn Sue, Kristen Glover, Halo Wheeler and many more. Empowerment speakers have included Mayor Randall L. Woodfin of Birmingham, US Senator Cory Booker, Congresswoman Terri Sewell, Stacey Abrams, Alphonso David, and many others.
